Hi, my name is Jake Leikam and I’ve lived in the City Center area of Eagle

Mountain for the last six years with my beautiful wife and family. We

absolutely love our community.

I grew up on a small farm in West Jordan where I learned at an early age

the value and satisfaction of hard work. I’m also one of those guys that

never gives up, and never quits until I’ve accomplished my goals.

I served a full-time mission for the LDS Church in Leipzig, Germany. I then

went on to play professional football as a running back for the Dresden

Monarchs in the European League for two seasons.

After completing my dream of playing professional football I began a

thirteen year career with the federal government. I first worked for the U.S. State Department in Germany in its regional security office. I then transferred to the Department of Defense where I worked with its SWAT and SRT teams. I’m now a supervisor for Eclipse Composites in Bluffdale, Utah.

If I could summarize one of the most important lessons I’ve learned about leadership during my career it would be this: A great leader isn’t an expert in all things. A great leader organizes and utilizes the resources that experts bring to the table.

If elected to the Eagle Mountain City Council I will strive to bring the best expertise to our city to make it a better place for everyone.
